(19**-) British-born actor, musician, dancer.

Biography

He first made his name as a British Olympic diver. He has written a number of successful film scores, two of which have won awards at Cannes Film Festivals.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He played the lead in The House of Blue Leaves in Johannesburg in 1972 and at The Space in 1976. He was a voice in Drive In at The Space. He starred in Rex Garner’s production of The Brass Hat for the Academy Theatre at the Brooke Theatre in 1972. It also starred John Hayter and Ian Drummond. He starred in Mannie Manim’s production of Larry Gelbart’s Sly Fox for The Company at the Market Theatre in 1979. It was directed by Pieter-Dirk Uys and also starred Graham Armitage and Patrick Mynhardt. Performed in Forty Carats, No, No, Nanette, Gigi, A Community of Two and Cinderella with NAPAC . Also worked in cabaret. In 1995 he played Mervyn Kant in The Sisters Rosensweig.

His career includes roles in several films, e.g. Glenda.
