Oscar is a 1958 comedy play by French playwright Claude Magnier (1920-1983) [1].

Performance history in South Africa

1983: Die Vernuftige Vryer, the Ferreira Afrikaans translation was staged by PACT, directed by William Egan, with Nico Liebenberg (Oscar), Alida Theron (Bernadette), Johan Engelbrecht (Christian Martin), Louis van Niekerk (Bertrand Barnier), Selma van der Vyver (Colette), Roelien Spruyt (Jacqueline), Trudie Taljaard (Madame Barnier), Schalk Schoombie (Philippe) and Marion Hultzer (Charlotte). Design by Frances Michaletos.
