Festival for coloured secondary schools under the old dispensation. Regional finals were held in Durban, Paarl, Athlone and Stellenbosch, and a National Final in Cape Town. Substantial cash prizes were awarded for the top productions. Although initially very popular, increasing politicisation led to a decrease in interest.
