The Muizenberg Amateur Dramatic Society (MADS) was founded at the Muizenberg Junior School in 1978, the inspiration of Celia Musikanth. Composed of parents and teachers at the Muizenberg Junior School in order to "foster the arts among youths".
In 1982 broke away to establish an open society which uses the Masque Theatre for its productions.
