He was married to actress Sann de Lange, and the couple had a son, also named Morné Coetzer.

Biography

He is the son of actress Sann de Lange and Morné Coetzer senior. He was married to TV presenter Jeanne Coetzer (also known as Jeanne McCaul), daughter of Hermien Dommisse.

Contribution to South African theatre, film, media and performance

He joined the Cape Regional Theatre (CAPAB) circa 1962. He has appeared on stage in productions such as Die Goue Kring, Ons Dorp, , Ek Onthou vir Mamma, Anna Christie and Juffrou Edelwater.

His film roles included Die Jagters, Basie, Tom, Dirk en Herrie (1962), Gevaarlike Spel (1962), Seven against the Sun (1965), Die Sersant en die Tiger Moth (1973), Snip en Rissiepit (1973), Lord Oom Piet and .
