Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
She on occasion possibly performed for the Cape Town Theatrical Club (later to become the Cape Town Dramatic Club) in the period 1858-1861, later also for the Royal Alfred Dramatic Club and the Cape Town and Royal Alfred Dramatic Club.
In 1858 she played supporting roles for J.E.H. English (in 1858), being specifically mentioned as "Emilie de Lesparre" in J.E.H. English's production of The Corsican Brothers (Grangé and De Montépin) on 21 September and 1 October, 1858.
On 2 June of 1859 she supported the "classical Shakespearean Reader and Impersonator" E.C. de Jocelyn Harvey, in "An evening of Tragedy, Melodrama and Light Comedy", put on in the Cape Town Theatre. The pieces done were death scene from a melodrama entitled Friendship (Anon.), the closet scene from Hamlet (Shakespeare), Town & Country, or Which is Best (Morton) and an Extravaganza Macbeth (Talfourd). Other supporting performers for the evening's entertainment included Mr Devere, Mr Connorton, Mr Keens and Mr Stenner (the latter three with permission of Colonel Graham of the local regiment).
On 30 June 1859 the Cape Town Theatrical Club put on The Little Treasure (Harris) and The Lady of Lyons (Byron), with a performance of the brass band of the Cape Royal Rifles, as a benefit for Miss Delmaine.
