Media Club South Africa
A website sponsored and run by Brand South Africa[1], it claims to be a resource on all matters relating to the country. According to the website (http://www.mediaclubsouthafrica.com/about-us-83), the site is "..a free service for all media professionals - journalists, editors, writers, designers, picture editors and more - as well as for nonprofit organisations and private individuals."
Its specific focus is on South Africa and Africa and the site purports to offer in-depth encyclopaedic background articles and up-to-date news and feature articles, along with a comprehensive library of high-resolution images by South African photographers.
All this is of use to the researcher, but unfortunately the section South African Theatre[2], while giving a brief and in some ways quite useful overview of some of the key developments in the evolution of theatre in the 20th century, also displays a very strong tendency to want to rewrite the past and therefore making enormous factual errors in the process. Unfortunately the article provide any references to the sources used.
