Marie Housley

Marie Housley (fl. late 1800s-early 1900s) was a British actress.

Her name also found as Marie Hously


Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She visited South Africa in 1906 as a member of a comedy company performing in the Opera House, Cape Town under the auspices of the Wheeler Theatre Company from 27 August onwards. She made a particular impression as "the Duchess of Braceborough" in Mr Hopkinson (Carton) and as "Geraldine Ridgely" in His House in Order (Pinero). The company also included such fine performers as Herbert Greville, Wilfred E. Payne and the six year old Sylvia Edney.
