Kellerprinz Drama Festival

Founded in August 1982 with the support of the manager of the Kellerprinz wine group, A.J. Roux. The purpose of this festival was to promote local drama in the Western Cape and the first festival was held in Stellenbosch from September 1982 to March 1983. Although limited to the Cape Peninsula, groups from Windhoek (Namibia), Robertson and Riversdal also entered on occasion.

Founded in 1982, it was a drama festival for the "coloured" community in the Western Cape, and was sponsored by Stellenbosch Farer's Winery to promote local drama in the Western Cape and was named after one of their wine brands. Although limited to the Cape Peninsula, groups from Windhoek (Namibia), Robertson and Riversdal also entered on occasion. The first festival took place in Stellenbosch from September 1982 to March 1983. (Smith, 1990, 37, 43, january 1997).
