Kai Luke Brummer is an actor.

Biography

He graduated from University of Cape Town in 2016 with a BA Honours in Theatre and Performance, with distinction in Acting.

His stage performances include The Dead Wait (directed by Mdu Kweyama), Ebola (directed by Nicholas Ellenbogen), Black Dog/ Inj’enyama (directed by Clare Stopford), Gavin Krastin’s Trophy, (s)kin (directed by Mbongeni Mtshali, Artscape and National Arts Festival, Grahamstown; 2016/17)), Immortal (Castle of Good Hope; 2017), Mike van Graan’s When Swallows Cry (Baxter Theatre, Sweden and National Arts Festival, Grahamstown, 2018), No Functional Language (Denmark; 2018), Richard Kaplan's Selwyn & Gabriel (National Arts Festival, Grahamstown, Hilton Festival, 2018), The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2018), Master Harold ... and the boys (2020).

Film/TV: He played the lead in the South African film Moffie (Portobello Productions), The Professionals (Most Media), Vagrant Queen (Syfy Channel), Deutchland 86 (UFA fiction, Amazon Prime).

Awards, etc

He was awarded the Ellie Walendorf Prize for best male actor in 2015.
