Joanie Galant-hulle ("Joanie Galant and companions") is an Afrikaans play by Adam Small (1936-2016).

The original text
A play about social issues on the Cape Flats during the Apartheid regime, including the resettlement issue. Tells the story of Joanie and her family, who find themselves in the well-off neighbourhood of Woodstock in the 1960’s. The resettlement act sees them being pushed out to the Cape Flats where moral and social disintegration leads to the death of her husband and baby.

Performance history in South Africa
1975-76: First performed in Afrikaans by the Cape Flats Players in 1975-76.
1981: Performed (in English?) in as Joanie Galant at the Upstairs at the Market in July, as part of a double bill (with Small's renowned poem, What abou' de lo? (= "What about the law"), and listed in Schwartz (1988) as Joanie Galant and What About De Lo). Directed by Peter Braaf, with Phalencia Adams, Agnesia Braaf, Peter Braaf, Anette Braaf, Sandra Braaf, Paul Cookson, Benjamin de Kock, Warren Peterson and Ivan Sylvester. Photographs by Ruphin Coudyzer.
2000: Presented in Afrikaans by the Cape Town pop group The Rockets, the Cape Flats Players and Robert Pearce on the Voorbrandfees at the KKNK festival.
