The Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa (IDC) is a state-owned development finance institution established in 1940 and headquartered in Sandton, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Its primary mandate is to promote industrial development, economic growth, and job creation by providing funding to businesses and strategic industries. Through its Media and Motion Pictures funding initiatives, the IDC has also invested in numerous South African and international film and television productions, typically as a production partner, funding partner, or associated production company.
