Can You Hear the Music? is a short play by David Campton (1924-2006)[1].


The original text

Six mice living in the loft, have their dreams conjured up by music. Each hears a different tune played by an invisible Piper and each has to answer his call. Finally, only Tattymouse, who is completely deaf, is left.

First performed in 1988, published by Samuel French and by Concord Theatricals

Translations and adaptations

Translated into Afrikaans as Hoor Jy die Musiek? ("Do you hear the music") by Kobus Strydom (). The Afrikaans text published as a DALRO Playscript in 1990.
