Hoofstad was an Afrikaans daily newspaper in Pretoria (1968-1983).

The publication

Founded in 1968 as a collaborative effort between the Afrikaanse Pers (1962) Limited and the Voortrekker Pers, as a daily newspaper for Pretoria. Marius Jooste was the managing director and chairman of the Hoofstad Pers and Andries Treurnicht was appointed as the first editor. Treurnicht was later succeeded as editor-in-chief by At de Beer and P.G. du Plessis.

Publication of Hoofstad ceased on 19 February 1983.
