Hardy Botha (1947-). South African painter, sculptor and installation artist.

He worked for CAPAB as a freelance stage designer and painter since 1969.

In 1975 he created a protest installation at the Space Theatre as a response to the arrest of poet/artist Breyten Breytenbach by shaping puppets out of his own clothes as a mat over which theatre-goers had to walk to attend performances.

Another protest installation was prepared with the theatre director Chris Pretorius commenting on the generation of atomic energy, with the possible consequences of this.
