Family Album

Family Album is a short play by Noël Coward, one of ten that make up Tonight at 8:30, a cycle written to be performed across three evenings.

Original text

First produced in 1935 in Manchester, then taken on tour. Played in London (1936), New York (1936–1937) and Canada (1938). The plays were performed in various combinations of three at each performance during the original run.

Performance history in South Africa

1964: Presented as Tonight at 8:30 (Family Album, Still Life and Fumed Oak) at the Hofmeyr Theatre, Cape Town, and in Port Elizabeth, by CAPAB, with Anne Ziegler, Webster Booth, Yvonne Bryceland, Michael Drin, Nanette Rennie and Flora McKenna, directed by Margaret Inglis, conducted by Keith Jewell. Settings and costumes by Pamela Lewis.
