Eureka! is a musical with book and lyrics by Percy Baneshik and Alfred Travers and music by Bertha Egnos

The original text

A musical play about the discovery of gold at Barberton. While this story about South African gold mining had characters representing immigrants from around the world - Americans, British, Europeans and Australians - it managed to avoid including among its many characters any black South Africans.

Productions

1967: Produced by the Port Elizabeth Musical and Dramatic Society in July.

1968: Produced at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre from 14 March, directed and designed by Anthony Farmer, with Lawrence Folley and Pat Lancaster.
