Die Vaal Koestertjie ("The grey pipit")[1] can refer to:

The original tale

The story first appeared in Die Boerevrou in 1921.

Adaptations and translations

In 2024 the tale was recorded for broadcast by Luisterverhale, as a project undertaken by Katinka Heyns and Sonneblom Ateljees, in partnership with LitNet and sponsored by the Dagbreek Trust. (The Luisterverhale project seeks to have short stories by well known Afrikaans authors are read by professional actors for transmission.)

This audio version was directed by Katinka Heyns and read by Marcel van Heerden and Rolanda Marais.
