Die Toorskilder is an Afrikaans translation by Rina Botha ]] (1925-198*) of a German children's puppet play.

The original text
The original work was probably written in German (possibly with the title Der magische Maler) and accredited to "Hans Fürsche" as author.

Translated into Afrikaans as Die Toorskilder by Rina Botha.
Thirty eight copies of the Afrikaans text were found in the Stellenbosch Drama Department's theatre archives and one is now held in the Performing Arts Research Collection (PARC) at the Africa Open Institute for Music, Research and Innovation, with offices at Pieter Okkers House, 7 Joubert Street, Stellenbosch, South Africa.
Performance history in South Africa
The puppet text was probably used by puppetry students for Matie Poppekas during Botha's tenure as lecturer at the Drama Department at the University of Stellenbosch.
