Die Dood van 'n Matador ("The Death of a Matador") is an Afrikaans radio play by Hennie Aucamp (1934-2014).

The original text

The drama tells of a journalist, Ramón Rojas, who investigates the death of the famous bullfighter Gallito Murillo, who is a hero in the eyes of his many admirers. As Ramón progresses with his investigation, he begins to doubt whether Murillo was a hero at all.

The play was originally published in Hoorspelkeur ("Radio play selection"), a collection of Afrikaans radio plays published by Tafelberg Uitgewers in 1983 (reprinted 1989, 1997).
