A comedy based on the TV soap format, about the prejudice driven squabbles that arise when two locals, an Afrikaner and a flirt, found a local neighbourhood made up of a mixed bag of South African, including an Englishman, a gay man, a teenager and a "coloured" home-owner.

Written by Beer Adriaanse, Die Buurtwag ("The Neighbourhood Watch") is a short film, a comedy about a new householder who joins an outlandish group, run by a militaristic self-proclaimed leader and consisting of a ramshackle bunch of guys trying to escape the boredom of their suburban lives.

Produced by Beer Adriaanse and Jaco Smit, directed by Jaco Smit, with a large cast including Deon Lotz, Quentin Krog, Mothusi Magano, Albert Maritz, Johan Botha, Marko van der Colff, Leon Kruger, Joe Vaz, Joanie Combrink and Tinarie van Wyk Loots. The crew included Jorrie van der Walt (cinematography), Johan Beukes and Dwaine Carrao (film editing) and Tobie de Haas (gaffer).
Released at the Silwerskerm Filmfees on 3 September 2012.
Buurtwag the TV series (2015–2016)

Written Beer Adriaanse, based on his 2012 short film script, it is a comedy about a motley collection of individuals in a modern South African suburb coming together to form an a-typical neighborhood watch.
