Boomhuis, Droomhuis (“Treehouse, Dreamhouse”) is an Afrikaans one-act play by Temple Hauptfleisch (1945-).

The original text

A play about a lonely boy living in an urban flat, who builds a "tree house" in a scrapyard near his home to get out and have a place to dream. He is discovered by the angry owner of the yard, who initially warns him off, but then - despite himself - becomes intrigued by the boy's house and, ultimately, they begin to bond and start planning the construction of an urban "dream garden" for themselves and other children in the vicinity.

Published in the collection Boomhuis, Droomhuis en Ander Eenbedrywe by Pat Lubbe and then again in Die Spieël en die Weerkaatsing by Academica in 1985.
