Augustus Wheatman

Augustus Wheatman (?-?) was a British actor, director and writer.

Also billed as Gus Wheatman.

Biography

In 1887 he appeared in Leah on tour in the UK, and in A Servant of the Public in 1909.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He wrote Dick Whittington; or, The Cat, the Rat and the Fairy of Bow Bells (1893). Together with Fitzroy Morgan he wrote and directed a stage version of Robinson Crusoe (1893/1894) and Babes in the Wood (1894).

In 1893 he appeared in L'Enfant Prodigue and Little Lord Fauntleroy for the Wheeler Company.

He appeared in Smith, Helena's Hope, Ltd and The Night of the Party in 1910 for the De Jong-Black Company at the Tivoli Theatre.
