Asoka Theatre

Founded in 1972 in Durban. Theatre complex for the University of Durban-Westville's Drama Department. Home of Asoka Theatre Productions. Used for drama department productions, T.V. recordings, recitals, festival events, and community theatre presentations. Theatre manager: Philippa Savage. Asoka Theatre Productions

Asoka Theatre Publications, Durban

Founded by Dennis Schauffer when he was head of the University of Durban-Westville's Drama Department, in order to publish research by staff and students.

The Asoka Indic Theatre Series

This offers a number of monographs on theatre in South Africa, notably on Indic theatre practice.

The Asoka Profile Series

This offer biographical, critical and bibliographical material on black playwriting in the country and was started in 1999* with a monograph on the life and work of Zakes Mda (edited by Dennis Schauffer and ***). (D. Schauffer)
