Tailleur Pour Dames ("Tailor for ladies") is a French farce in three acts by Georges Feydeau (1862 - 1921)[1]

The original text

First performed on the 17th December, 1886 at the Théâtre de la Renaissance in Paris. Published by Librairie Théatrale, 1887.

Translations and adaptations

Translated into English as A Gown for his Mistress by Barnett Shaw ()[] (Samuel French, NY, 1969),

Translated into Afrikaans as Flikkers en Vlooie by Pieter Fourie.

Performance history in South Africa

1979: Performed in Afrikaans as Flikkers en Vlooie by KRUIK Toneel directed by Schalk Jacobsz, designed by Dicky Longhurst starring Johan Malherbe, Mary Dreyer, Trix Pienaar and Liz Dick, opening 3 November 1979.

2002: Performing rights for Flikkers en Vlooie granted by DALRO to the Hoërskool Dirkie Uys for performances in Mooreesburg during August.
