Goodbye, Mr Chips is a dramatisation by Norman Coates from the classic novel by James Hilton (1900-1954).

Performance history in South Africa

1994-1995: A Theatre for Africa production was presented by Pieter Toerien under the direction of Ralph Lawson starring Michael Atkinson as Mr Chipping and Liz Szymczak as Mrs Wickett and Kate Bridges. The play opened at the Theatre on the Bay on 21 November 1994 and at the Richard Haines Theatre on 20 March 1995. This production was seen at the National Arts Festival, 1995.
