The Will for the Deed is a comedy in three acts by Thomas John Dibdin (1771 – 1841)[1]

The original text

First performed at the Theatre-Royal, Covent-Garden and printed in London by in 1804 and by Longman, Hurst, Rees, and Orme in 1805.

Translations and adaptations

F.C.L. Bosman (1928: p. 146) refers to the play by a Dutch title (De Wil voor de Daad) , though it would seem this is simply a direct translation of the title of the English play by Bosman's Dutch source.
