The Unfinished Gentleman is a farce in one act by Charles Selby (ca.1802-1863)[1].

The original text

First performed at the Adelphi Theatre, London, on 2 December, 1834. Published by Thomas Hailes Lacy in 1834.

Performance history in South Africa

1861: Performed as The Unfinished Gentleman on 18 February in the Cabinet Theatre, Cape Town, by the Cape Town Dramatic Club with The Plagued Professor ("An Original Interlude expressly written for this occasion" by Cresswell, "characters by members of the Royal Alfred Club) and Duchess or Nothing (Gordon).
