Described as "An Original Interlude expressly written for this occasion" with "characters by members of the Royal Alfred Club" in Cape Town.

Never published it seems.

Performance history in South Africa

1861: Performed as The Plagued Professor on 18 February in the Cabinet Theatre, Cape Town, by the Cape Town Dramatic Club with The Unfinished Gentleman (Selby) and Duchess or Nothing (Gordon).
