The First Floor is a farce in two acts by James Cobb (1756–1818)[1]

First performed at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, 13 January 1787 and printed for C. Dilly in 1787.

Performance history in South Africa

1854: Performed as a "comedietta" by the City Amateur Theatrical Society on Monday 21 August in the Dutch Company's Bree Street Theatre (corner of Dorp Street), Cape Town, under the directorship of Mr J. Boxer, with Mr Ashley playing "Furnish". The play followed on The Mendicant (Á Beckett) and was itself followed by The Secret! (Morris).
