Suspect is a play by English playwrights Edward Percy [1] and Reginald Denham [2] about a Mrs Smith on whom a verdict of “not proven” in a murder trial was passed 20 years before the action of the play begins.

Performance history in South Africa

1944: Presented by the Repertory Theatre Society, later known as the Cape Town Repertory Theatre Society performed at the Little Theatre, Cape Town, in July 1944, produced by Fred Gluck with Violet Dunlop, Beatrice Webb, A.J.A. Wilson, John Headon, Fred Gluck, Carol James, Nathan Jacobsohn and Hazel Casson.

1960: Presented by The Bank Players 14-19 March 1960.

1982: Presented by the Franklin Players in Johannesburg to celebrate their 21 birthday, September 1982.
