Sam Sly's African Journal was a literary and satirical newspaper published by William Layton Sammons in Cape Town from 1843 to 1851. The publication was both a newspaper and a literary and satirical periodical, intended to record facts, fiction, news, literature, commerce and amusements for the English speaking inhabitants of Cape Town and the colony.
