Rosalinda is a ballet with a prologue and in three acts, adapted from the opera Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss.

The ballet

Music by Johann Strauss, arrangement by John Lanchberry and choreography by Ronald Hynd.

Production

TO BE CORRECTED / IN PROGRESS: Conducted by Eve Queler and directed by Neels Hansen. The assistant staging directer was Johan Spies, decor and costumes were by Andrew Botha and lighting was by Stan Knight. The repetiteurs were Susan Steenkamp-Swanepoel and Galina Ryjikova, the stage manager was Amanda van Zyl, the French coach was Lize Thomas and the fencing instructor was Henk van Garderen. The PACT Chorus was under the direction of chorus master Rachelle Jonck.

The cast

The cast included: Johnny Bovang, Christopher Montague and Steven Jackets dancing the part of Gabriel von Eisenstein; Tanja Graafland, Leticia Muller, Ann Wixley and Michelle Naude dancing the part of Rosalinda (Von Eisenstein's wife); Nadine Sacker, Natasia Bava, Kazumi Ishii and Alarice Coates dancing the part of Adele, their maid; Nigel Hannah, Bruce Simpson and Robin van Wyk dancing the part of Dr Falke, a wealthy man-about-town; and Manuel Noram, Waldo Micea, Malcolm Botha and Kojiro Imada dancing the part of Alfredo, a violinist and Rosalinda's former lover.
