Romeo en Julia (Studie van 'n Verdrinkende Liggaam) ("Romeo and Julia - Study of a Drowning Body") by Peter Verhelst (translated into Afrikaans from the Belgian by Marthinus Basson). A violent reinterpretation of Shakespeare's text, first produced in South Africa in 2005 by Vleis, Rys, en Aartappels, directed and designed by Marthinus Basson and featuring Rolanda Marais, ***, Basson, Antoinette Kellerman, Jana Cilliers, Dawid Minnaar, and Jannie Gagiano. It premiéred at the Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees in March. See also Romeo and Juliet.
