Rodney-Mark Venner (19**-1989). Actor, pianist, composer, with a special flair for children’s theatre.

Biography

Rodney died while on tour in Port Elizabeth in December 1989.


Youth

Training

He studied at UCT.


Career

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As a teenager he played "Rolf" in Teddy Davies’s 1980 production of The Sound of Music in the Hofmeyr Theatre, Cape Town.

Other roles included those in Holy Moses and All That Jazz (UCT), Hamlet (Glass Theatre 1982), Getting Out (1983), The Nuns (1984), James and the Giant Peach (CAPAB 1987) and Aladdin (as "Fun-Wun", PACT 1988).

He produced Snoopy!!! for Kimberley Boys' High School in 1987.
