My Sister in this House is a play by American playwright Wendy Kesselman (1940-)[1].

The original text

The playwright uses the same historical material which inspired Jean Genet’s The Maids.

Published by Samuel French in 1988.

Performance history in South Africa

The first SA production presented by CAPAB Drama in May 1989 in the Nico Arena. Directed by Mary Dreyer, designs by Birrie le Roux, lighting Mark Behrens, starring Diane Wilson (Madame Danzard), Fiona Coyne (Isabelle), Belinda Koning (Christine), Pauline O'Kelly (Lea), Ralph Lawson (Voice of medical examiner), Marthinus Basson (Voice of photographer), David Clatworthy (Voice of judge). This production was also presented at the Grahamstown Festival, 1989.

Presented by the University of Stellenbosch Drama Department at the H.B. Thom Theatre in October 1996, directed by Angerie van Wyk, starring Lorraine Burger, Willemien Brümmer, Ellenore Wessels, Nikki Louw, voice of medical examiner, Keith Bain.
