Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He came from London to join the Brian Brooke Company. In 1955 he directed Terence Rattigan’s The Deep Blue Sea as the first production at the Brooke Theatre with Petrina Fry. Also directed two Broadway hits, The Seven-Year Itch and Teahouse of the August Moon for the Brian Brooke Company, both starring Heather Lloyd-Jones.

His last two shows for Brian Brooke were The Reluctant Debutante (1956) and the review-cum-musical Salad Days (1956).

In 1960 he directed Adam Leslie’s For Love or Money as the inaugural production of the Playhouse.
