Madi is a play Mike Makou.

The original text

Written mainly in Tswana, with English, the play is loosely and playfully structured, moving in and out of the lives of several characters. It focuses on burning issues such as child abuse, rape and HIV/ Aids, but treats them lightly, with humour and from the innocent perspective of children.

2010: First performed as part of the the 19th Market Lab Annual Community Theatre Festival it was selected for the Zwakala Festival, where it was a winner, being chosen for a full professional performance in the Barney Simon Theatre at the Market Theatre from 10 to 30 May. Directed by Mike Makou with Charmaine Malileke, Kuli Maluleka, Mary Makou. Performed as a double bill with 8 Minuets
