Lovedale Press (or the Lovedale Institution Press)Set up in the Lovedale Mission Station in the early 20th century, this press published numerous works by black writers and was instrumental in creating a body of literary writing for African languages. The director was R.W.H. Shepherd (19**-19**).
Among the plays published by the press were H.I.E. Dhlomo’s The Girl Who Killed to Save (1935/6), Iziganeko ZomKristu by E.W. Oules (n.d.), Zangen’iinkomo by M.L. Mbidlana (1954), Bhut’Lizo ndixolele by N. Mbekeni & P.M. Ntloko (1979), .
