La Bête is an English comedy by David Hirson (1958-)[1],

The original text

The story of a French theatrical troupe touring the regions under the aegis of the Prince of France.

Originally produced on the Broadway stage by Stuart Ostrow and Andrew Lloyd Webber at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on 10 February 1991 directed by Richard Jones. Published by Dramatists Play Service, 1992.

1995: Presented by CAPAB Drama at the Nico Arena directed by Marthinus Basson starring Diane Wilson, Kurt Wüstmann, Neels Coetzee, Karin van der Laag opening 7 October 1995. Lighting by Malcolm Hurrell, design by Peter Cazalet.
