Josephine, the Child of the Regiment, or The Fortune of War is a musical comedy, in two acts, by John Baldwin Buckstone (1802-1879)[1]


An adaptation from La Figlia del Reggimento (La Fille du Regiment), an opera in two acts with a libretto by Bayard (Jean-François-Alfred, M.), Henri Saint-Georges and music by Gaetano Donizetti. First performed at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket in March, 1844, and published in London by T.H. Lacy, 1856.
