(Binge also writes it as Waterson) (19*-) Teacher and amateur actor. *Born in Britain, he came to Krugersdorp in the 1920s. * A member of the Krugersdorp Dramatic and Operatic Club and later the Krugersdorp Municipal Dramatic and Operatic Society. Acted in plays such as A Mystery (1929), * Also had an ideal to learn enough Afrikaans to be able to act in it. He eventually did so in Die Stoplap (1932). A friend of P.P.B. Breytenbach, Watterson's strong cultural and intellectual background had an important influence on the future cultural leader.
