Isadora Verwey

(19*-) Actress for stage and TV. *** Daughter of Louw Verwey. Studied at the Drama Departement, University of Stellenbosch and did a Performers’ Diploma at the University of Cape Town. Started her professional career playing in Die Nonne (The Nuns) in South West Africa (Namibia) with SWAPAC in 1987, and went on to do more than 70 productions for CAPAB, PACOFS, PACT and the Market Theatre. Roles include award-winning performances in Macbeth (1992), Die Pakkamer (“The Storage Room” by Marga van Rooy, 1996). Winner of various awards, including the Piers Nicholson Bursary for her contribution to theatre in the Free State. TV roles include Egoli, Die Manakwalanders, Villa Rosa and Wild at Heart (BBC). **
