Het Beleg en het Nemen van Troyen ("The siege and the taking of Troy") is a ballet pantomime in three acts by Mr C.B. (Charles Etienne Boniface).

The first text is unpublished, and was presumably written the year of production (1813).

Het Beleg en het Nemen van Troje ("The siege and the taking of Troy") is a ballet-pantomime by C.E.Boniface, (Also found in a variety of spelling, including Het Beleg en’t Nemen van Troyen

The first original pantomime shown in South Africa.


1813: Performed in The African Theatre, Cape Town on 11 September, with music by Mr Lemming and the dance directed by Mr Bertrand.

South African productions

1813: First produced by the Afrikaansche Liefhebbery Gezelschap (using the motto Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense) in the African Theatre on Saturday 11 September, and repeated on Saturday 9 October, for the governor and his wife. "Overseen" (produced) by Mr Lemming (director of music) and Mr Bertrand (director of dance).
