Gina Benjamin (19*-) Actress, director and singer.

Biography

She was married to Sean Taylor. She emigrated to Australia in 199*

Training

Studied at the School of Dramatic Art, University of the Witwatersrand, graduated in 1982.

Career

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Roles in John Osborne’s The Entertainer (PACT, 1983), The Comedy of Errors as Eufesia, 1985, William M. Hoffman’s As Is (Janice Honeyman, 1986), The Grapes of Wrath for PACT Drama in 1986, When I Was a Girl I Used to Scream and Shout, (Des & Dawn Lindberg, 1987), Flight, Taxi Ranks, Last Summer at Bluefish Cove, M. Butterfly (1989).

She directed or co-directed Whale Nation, The Double Bass, Not the Midnight Mass, During the Fall (1990), Happy as a Sandbag.
