(19**-) Actor, director and lecturer. ** Went to school at Grey College, Bloemfontein, studied at the University of Cape Town and later became a teacher there. Also studied at York University Toronto. Won the Rosalie van der Gucht Prize for New Directors in 1989 and went on to become a successful director of student and professional work in Cape Town. Also taught at UCT, becoming associate professor at UCT Drama

Geoffrey Hyland, associate professor at UCT Drama, kicks off his stimulating 2012 sabbatical with this production before heading to London where he will direct a Shakespeare production with postgraduate students at the Central School of Speech and Drama. From there he will give classes in New York and Los Angeles before directing at York University in Toronto.
