Four Plays is a collection of dramatic works, edited by Zakes Mda (1948-)

The collection

Edited by playwright and academic Zakes Mda and published by Vivlia Press in 1996, the work is aimed at both students and practitioners of the art and contains works by four playwrights who have distinguished themselves, locally and internationally, over two decades.

The contents of the volume consists of:

1. Introduction: An overview of theatre in South Africa (Zakes Mda)

2. So What's New? (Fatima Dike)

3. Umongikazi/The Nurse (Maishe Maponya)

4. The Nun's Romantic Story (Zakes Mda)

5. Member of Society (Makwedini Mtsaka).
