Fanie Bekker (1940s-1970s) was an actor.

Biography

He grew up in Beaufort West.

He married the actress and director Estelle Bekker (Estelle Pentz) and was the father of performer and musician Adrian Bekker.

He was a member of the Bellvillese Afrikaanse Toneelvereniging (BAT) and also performed for the state funded companies of NTO and CAPAB.

Appearances on stage included Absolom, my Seun!, Die Nagtegaal, Ampie II, Helshoogte (1943), Geleende Vere (1944) with Die André Huguenet Geselskap; Liefde in Satyn (André Rousseau Theatre Company, 1947), Germanicus (NTO/BAT 1957), Die Loodswaaiers (KRUIK 1966), Die Dame met die Kamelias (KRUIK 1966), Cyrano de Bergerac (KRUIK 1969), 'n Skip is Ons Beloof (KRUIK 1969), 'n Wingerdstok sal Rank (1971), Stilte Asseblief (BAT 1972), Ai tog die Mansmense!
