En Folkefiende ("an enemy of the people") is a Norwegian play by Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906)[1]

The original text
A play about Doctor Thomas Stockmann, a medical officer, who is charged with inspecting the public baths on which the prosperity of his native town depends. He finds the water to be contaminated. When he refuses to be silenced, he is declared an enemy of the people.
The play was first published in in Norwegian in 1882 and performed in 1883.
