Published by John Malherbe, 1965.

Translations and adaptations

Translated into English by André P. Brink in 1970, with the title Elsewhere Fine and Warm. Performed in 1974.

Unpublished through a copy of the translation is held by NELM (Collection: BRINK, André; P]: 2001. 34. 1. 14).

Performance history in South Africa

1970: The Afrikaans version performed by PACOFS, directed by André P. Brink with Jan Prinsloo, Annie Basson, Johan Botha and Louise Mollett-Prinsloo.

1971: The Afrikaans version performed by PACT, directed by Carel Trichardt with Tine Balder (Julia}, Sandra Prinsloo (Sonja), Schalk Jacobsz (George), Louis van Niekerk (Dawid), Marius Weyers (Frans). Decor by Chris van den Berg.

1976: SWAPAC Drama presented the English version, called Elsewhere Fine and Warm, directed by Johan Botha Lida Botha (Julia), Antoinette Kellermann (Sonia), Dawie Malan (George), Kobus Strydom (David), Johan Botha (Charles). Decor designed by Dawie Malan, lighting by Hans Reinhardt.
